SENDCo: Mrs Hannah Watson
Special Education Needs ( S.E.N.)
Special needs can cover a whole range of requirements and at Rackheath Primary School we match the planning to the child’s needs. This applies if any child has learning or behavioural difficulties or underachievement relative to what they should be doing. We aim to identify at the earliest opportunity all children who need special consideration to support their physical, sensory, social, emotional or communication development. The class teacher and Special Educational Needs and Disability Co-ordinator, SENDCo, identify pupils and if appropriate an Individual Education Plan, IEP, is drawn up. This is reviewed on a regular basis and parents are kept informed of this process with any changes that arise. Throughout Rackheath Primary we have excellent Teaching Assistants that can best support all the children identified for receiving extra support.
